Part 1 is
here.
After a wonderful nights sleep for us all in Rifle, Colorado we got up early in order to meet my dad at Dillon Lake. So pretty. It was a good visit for all of us, and my kids got to meet their grandfather for the first time. And of course, I forgot to take pictures. :( Thankfully my step-sister took quite a few, I just don't have copies of them yet.
Friday afternoon, we made it up to my mom's house in Wyoming. It's been so long since I've been home that the moment I saw the familiar rolling hills right around the Wyoming border, I teared up. And my home state did not disappoint. The weather was nice (hot for them, nice for us) and because of such a wet winter, the wildflowers were still scattered along the hills.
To make it easier on me, I'm going to do most of the rest of these posts as picture posts. I know you don't mind.

All is right with Sunflower's world. She is finally out of her car seat. |
Enjoying a lovely Sunday after Mass on my mom's porch. |
Fritter and Ladybug investigating grasshoppers. |
Ladybug tickling daddy. Can you tell we really enjoyed being outside after being locked indoors all summer? |
Fritter and Ladybug got to enjoy a ride on grandma's lawn mower. I think that might have been one of the highlights of the trip for them. :) |
And guess who learned how to ride his bike while we were on vacation? My baby is a big boy now! |
My mom took this picture. You wouldn't catch me coming that close to a grasshopper. I know they're harmless, but I've had nightmares where they hop in my face and get stuck in my hair. I'm taking no chances. |
Proud grandparents. |
My dear aunt getting initiated into the slobber club. |
Dan enjoying conversation with my grandfather. |
Enjoying the time we have with the ones we love. |
My beautiful aunt enjoying snuggles with Sunflower. |
My 92 year old grandfather. He walked me down the aisle at my wedding. A year and a half is just too long to go without seeing him. |
This picture is close to my heart for many reasons. |
Sunflower is charming another of my grandparents. |
My cousin held a barbecue for us at her great house. So much fun! |
It was so nice to see my family, especially after the year it's been for them all. It seems every week for awhile there, I received news about this family member's cancer diagnosis, that family member's cancer diagnosis, so and so's heart attack, such and such's surgery, and the general fact that my grandparents are growing older every year. I wish I could be there more for all of them, but I know they are all aware that we have been praying heavily for them all.
We were in this part of Wyoming for a very busy three and a half days before we headed north to visit my husband's family. More on that later...
